Pool Care Calculators MCP Server

Model Context Protocol (MCP) lets compatible AI clients call tools. This free, remote server exposes two read-only calculations using the same formulas as our website. It does not measure your water, choose equipment targets, or control pool equipment.

Connect a compatible client

Select a remote MCP server using Streamable HTTP and enter https://poolcarecalculators.com/mcp. No API key or account is required. Clients must support custom remote MCP servers; setup and availability depend on your client.

The URL without a trailing slash is the protocol endpoint. This page, /mcp/, is documentation. A browser GET to the endpoint may return 405; connect with an MCP client rather than opening it as a web page.

calculate_pool_salt

Provide US gallons, measured currentSaltPpm, and your equipment's targetSaltPpm. Optional bagSizeLb defaults to 40. Optional bagPriceUsd is dollars per bag; cost is omitted when no price is supplied.

{
  "gallons": 15000,
  "currentSaltPpm": 2200,
  "targetSaltPpm": 3200,
  "bagSizeLb": 40,
  "bagPriceUsd": 8.99
}

Result: status add, about 125.1 pounds, displayed bag count 3.2, purchase 4 bags, 34.9 pounds left over, and estimated cost $35.96. Responses include numeric structured content, a text equivalent, calculation notes, cautions, and a source URL.

For 15,000 gallons at 4,000 ppm targeting 3,200 ppm: status high, zero salt addition, and an estimated 20% / 3,000 gallon replacement using zero-salt refill water. Confirm the reading and check structural, groundwater, and drainage conditions before considering any water replacement. This is not an instruction to drain a pool.

See the pool salt calculator and calculation sources. Add in stages, circulate, and retest; always follow product and equipment instructions.

calculate_pool_volume

Use shape: rect or oval (length, width, averageDepth), round (diameter, averageDepth), or quick (surfaceArea, averageDepth). Units default to feet; use unit: "m" for meters. Surface area is in square units. Optional turnoverHours defaults to 8.

{
  "shape": "rect",
  "unit": "ft",
  "length": 30,
  "width": 15,
  "averageDepth": 5
}

Result: 16,830 US gallons, approximately 63,708.45 liters, and 35.0625 GPM for an eight-hour turnover. Use average water depth. Round and oval shapes use circular/elliptical footprints; irregular pools are approximations. Turnover flow is not an equipment sizing or sanitation guarantee.

See the pool volume calculator and formula assumptions.

Pilot limits

Salt inputs: up to 1,000,000 US gallons, 100,000 ppm, bags from 1 to 2,000 pounds, and optional prices from $0 to $100,000 per bag. Volume dimensions must be positive and at most 1,000 units (depth 100); surface area is at most 1,000,000 square units, with output capped at 1,000,000 US gallons. Turnover is 0.25–168 hours. All numbers must be finite; negative or missing required values are rejected. These are API abuse limits, not recommended operating ranges.

Privacy and safety

Website calculators run in your browser. MCP requests instead send the values you provide to our remote Cloudflare Worker for that calculation. MCP cannot read your browser's My Pool settings or local storage. We do not store request bodies or raw input values in application logs. Operational logs may include tool name, success, and elapsed time; Cloudflare may process request metadata. Do not send personal information. Read our privacy policy.
